It depends on whether you are looking for a whole house softener, filter or both. However, it will most likely need to be a high capacity system because the situation you describe means your home most likely consumes a lot of water on a daily basis.

For example, something like this that will both filter and soften water at the same time while being able to deal with the high capacity of your needs.
