Because I do not have a filtration system in my home, I give bottled water to my small dog, both purified and distilled. Because this type of water has no minerals or anything added, I also add trace mineral to raise the ph since distilled water is mainly acidic, but a high alkaline water could also be harmful, very acidic- oxalate stones, very alkaline- struvite stones. Is this a safe practice? The bottled water I purchase is always BPH free and I always transfer the contents to a glass bottle once I get home. As far as filtered or even spring water, not sure if you can trust what has been taken out or put back in. Thank you for your reply. Teri
