In reply to John.

Hi John,
That's a fair question as they do seem so similar in size. Unfortunately, I don't have my Big Berkey filter anymore to measure the dia. In terms of safety, however, I don't recommend mixing and matching products from different companies because details like sealing around the cartridges can be suspect as they wouldn't have been tested thoroughly.

Thanks,
Mr Water Geek

Hi Water Geek,

I’ve had Propur for years. Actually have the Big and Traveler Propur gravity systems. For some of the reasons you mentioned I’d like to try Berkey now, but don’t want to buy the whole system again. My question: Will any of the Berkey filters fit in any of the Propur containers? The main question is with regard to what the hole size difference is in the bottom of the top containers of each. — Thank you.

Hi Carolyn

Yes, ProPur removes fluoride but it's not clear by how much.
Berkey removes fluoride by 99.99% but you need special filters.
AquaTru removes fluoride by 91.8% - no special filters required.

Stay hydrated,
Luke

I've been told that the propur filters will fit the Berkley which means you only need two filters instead of four. Is this true. Also I'm assuming the propur removes chlorine since its not specifically addressed.
