Hi Kevin

My current go to recommendation is SpringWell softener / filter combo machine. I have a lot of experience with this company so know they have good customer service and I currently use their machine in my home so know it works well.

Stay hydrated,

Can you make a recommendation on a whole house system that would be compatible with a tankless hot water system? I understand salt systems are a poor choice, but I am not seeing a clear answer on a technology or system that works for whole house.

Hi George

I'm not very familiar with ozone systems but this doesn't sound right to me. A device of that price should be able to effectively treat .3 - 5ppm of sulfur.

Personally speaking, I would get my money back and buy something that will do the job without the need for costly future upgrades.

Stay hydrated,

I have a local water softener company that installed an ozone system to remove sulfur from my well water. January 2021 @ $1500. This install was based on a measurement of .3 ppm (seems like it would be gpg? but they said ppm).

The system does not remediate the sulfur, and the original installer now measures 5 ppm. His equipment supplier measures 2.53 ppm sulfur.

So - The installer (via supplier advice) says that we now need a Stenner pump and mixer. Another $700. Supposedly the second solution will work with the first? Does this make sense?

Would it make more sense to pull out the ozone system and issue a partial refund? There are other issues with the water, but I want to get this one sorted first.

Hi Anita

Yes, I've heard of Kinetico Reverse Osmosis Water Filters but not very familiar with them sorry. You should try speaking to their customer support for advice - (800) 944-9283.

Please report back when you get a resolution as this information may be able to help someone else.

Many thanks,
Luke

Are you familiar with the Kinetico Reverse Osmosis Water filters? This set up worked well for approx. 13 years and now stops working every week or two. All of a sudden it changes to hard water. We add salt on a regular basis.

In reply to Moses Benny.

Hi Moses

If you're worried about chlorine you should opt for the Aquasana 10-Year Rhino because it removes 97% of chlorine and chloramines (this is among the highest rates of chlorine removal on the market).

Add on the Salt-Free Water Softer option to the Aquasana Rhino if you want to reduce hard water issues like limescale. To be clear, this option is a filter first with "softening" capabilities if you add the Salt-Free Water Softener Scale Control Media (SCM) upgrade.

However, if hard water is your bigger concern then this one might be better because it's a softener first with light filtration capabilities but I'm not sure how well it copes with chlorine.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
