Hi Theresa

The cheap fix for this would be to install reverse osmosis units under your sink so that you can drink safe water directly from the faucet. The other property would have to do the same.

But this does not address the route problem.

The more expensive but comprehensive fix is to get a high volume water filter and softener that connects direct to the mains water supply. This will treat all the water that comes in and stop the lime buildup in your pipes, remove all the sediments, make it safe to drink etc.

If the mains water supply to all properties happens through one source then you may be able to install a single device at that point to treat everything in one go. However, if the pipes don't allow then you may have to install separate whole house filters in the different properties.

The final issue is the capacity.

A device like the <a href="https://click.linksynergy.com/deeplink?id=XGumC3sj/08&mid=36667&murl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.aquasana.com%2Fwhole-house-water-filters%2Frhino-1-million-gallons%2Fsalt-free-water-conditioner%2Fuv-filter%2Fproinstall-100237121.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Aquasna Rhino</a> treats 1 million gallons of water but if you need more than that then you may have to consider an industrial machine that is used for factories etc.

OR you may decide to only install the Rhino in the residential parts of the property. 1 million gallon filters typically lasts for 10 years in the average home before they need to be replaced.

Hope this has given you some ideas!
Stay hydrated,
Luke

Hello Luke,
I hope your well! I'm here in Tennessee and I've lived on this family farm for 51 years. There are two residences on the farm plus the barn that use the water from a spring. It is HUGE!! The latest monitor on the fresh spring water is 300,000 gallons every 24 hours and sometimes more! We have only used a sediment filter on the water in each home to stop the mud (LOL..aka mud bath ) from getting in during the rainy seasons. The spring was monitored for 2 years by a hydrologist for University of Tn. and our water actually come thru a faultline which is why it's so pure and the taste is amazing. Here are my concerns. There is a bacteria count probably f rom the ground water getting in. We are on farm land and our neighbors are dairy farmers, grain farmers and they do use pesticides on the land next to us. We also have alot of lime and it's taking a toll on our plumbing. My Mom is 92 and so far we have all been healthy but I worry about the stuff getting in the water and we have been looking at systems to clean up our water and soften it a bit. We have two pumps at the spring..One for Mom and one for my home. What do you recommend? Can we do one system for both some how? Can this be a simple fix without spending $$$$ ? I appreciate your work and any info that you may have..If you need other info on my water (bacteria counts, mineral content..etc) I have it all.. Stay well and thanks for a reply..
