Aquasure Softener Review
Reasons Why Aquasure Softener’s Might NOT Be Worth It
Here are some reasons why you might consider not buying an Aquasure softener and instead consider other available options.
Lack of Features
Aquasure Softeners do not have advanced features such as smart technology, leak detection, Wi-Fi connectivity, app controls and other customization options. This limits its performance and convenience, especially when compared to similar products on the market today.
Limited Warranty
The warranty provided by Aquasure is limited in terms of coverage and duration. The longest warranty that I’ve been able to find is 5 years. However, other whole house systems typically come with a lifetime warranty.
Lack of Alternative Salt-Free Options
There are no salt free Aquasure softener options. They only provide salt-based devices, which require a lot more on-going maintenance because you need to constantly buy and top up the salt.
Softener systems do NOT typically come with integrated filters and when they do, the filters are very basic.
This is by far its BIGGEST drawback and something I will cover in more depth that the end of the article.

Installation may be difficult for small households that do not have adequate space.
Only a five-year warranty.
Is Aquasure Softener WORTH It?
The short answer is yes and no.
Aquasure is worth it because it’s overall a great machine that effectively treats hard water, but the 5-year warranty is far below industry standards, and the devices fall short when it comes to water filtration.
YES
Aquasure Harmony Series is a good whole house water softener solution that delivers good performance, durability, ease of use, and has lots of happy customers.
NO
However, it’s also not worth it because the warranty is below industry standards and their water softeners require electricity to operate. They also don’t offer all the modern features like Wi-Fi enabled operation and smart leak detection.
AQUASURE’S BIGGEST DRAWBACK?
The biggest drawback is Aquasure provide softener ONLY machines. It will only treat your hard water and that’s it.
This means that you need to buy AND install a whole new separate device.
The workaround that they offer is an under sink reverse osmosis filter for the kitchen faucet. However, this is a completely separate device that will need to be installed and maintained separately, thereby doubling the workload and costs.
There is the odd Aquasure softener and integrated filter combo system but it’s incredibly hard to find and the filter is still not on par with standard whole house systems that are incredibly powerful.
Personally speaking, if I’m going to spend this much money and effort in purchasing and installing a home treatment system I would prefer to buy a single device that softens and filters at the same time.
A single device cuts down on costs, on-going maintenance, the level of installation complexity and even saves space.
I think it’s especially preferable to buy a single softener / filter combo machine, where the filter is powerful enough to treat chlorine, bacteria and even heavy metals like mercury and lead.
Also, 5 years is too short a warranty for a device that is expensive, bulky and difficult to return / replace. Other whole house systems start with a 10 year warranty but most come with a lifetime warranty.
Why I Am No Longer Recommending Aquasure (Recent Update)
I am no longer recommending Aquasure for the following reasons:
Basic stand-alone Aquasure softeners do not include water filtration. This means that despite their relatively low cost of around $600, additional expenses for a plumber and a separate filter are necessary to make the water drinkable. This can result in final costs ranging from $1500 to $2500 and leaves you with a complex solution with multiple machines serving different purposes.
In contrast, all-in-one softener and filter combinations from brands like Aquasana offer a more comprehensive solution that addresses various water issues beyond just hard water.
While Aquasure softeners typically do not come with filters, the few models that do have integrated filters usually offer basic filtration for sediments and some common contaminants.
On the other hand, salt-based softener systems like the SpringWell whole house softener and filter provided by Aquasana are designed to treat a wider range of contaminants, including chlorine, viruses, mercury, bacteria, and even pharmaceuticals.
It’s worth noting that installing a Aquasure softener by yourself may potentially void any warranty you have.
Whereas Aquasana and other whole house water systems provide professional-grade installation kits, offering the option for DIY installation and potential cost savings.
Aquasure vs Aquasana? (Whole House Salt FREE Softener + Filter)
The Aquasana Rhino system is designed to address a wide range of water issues, including sediments, contaminants, and hard water, unlike regular water softeners that only focus on hard water.
The system is capable of treating 1,000,000 (1 million) gallons of water, which means the filters may only need to be replaced after 10 years of use.
The powerful filters in the Aquasana Rhino effectively remove various contaminants such as volatile organic chemicals (VOCs), herbicides, chlorine, heavy metals like mercury and lead, and more.
Aquasana Rhino’s package includes a professional installation kit for easy setup.
The Aquasana Rhino does not use or require salt, yet it can still effectively treat hard water up to 24 parts per million, making it suitable for most American homes.
Being salt-free will save you a lot of extra money, hassle and on-going maintenance.
The UV filter included in the system is effective against bacteria, viruses, and chlorine-resistant cysts.
The filters in the Aquasana Rhino are certified to IAPMO and NSF standards, ensuring their quality and performance.
For added assurance, purchasing directly from Aquasana (the manufacturer) comes with a 90-Day “Pure Satisfaction” guarantee and 10 year warranty.
Aquasure vs SpringWell? (Salt-Based Softener and Filter)
The SpringWell salt-based softener and whole house filter is specifically designed for addressing very hard water issues.
Unlike Aquasana, which does not use salt and only treats hard water, this SpringWell model generates soft water through its salt-based softening process.
Consider opting for this combined salt-based softener and whole house filter for the following reasons:
It eliminates the need for separate devices as it combines both softening and filtering functions in a single unit.
Requires minimal maintenance, allowing for a “set it and forget it” approach.
It is highly effective in dealing with very hard water conditions.
Based on a multi-stage filtration process that includes a powerful carbon medium filter.
It comes with a valve for easy control and monitoring once installed and has advanced features like mobile app controls.
Limited LIFETIME warranty.

This is very misleading. I recently purchased an Aquasure harmony that came with a whole house activated carbon filter that is also capable of filtering 1,000,000 gallons of water. It also came with a sediment filter and a reverse osmosis system for drinking water. I have no business relationship with Aquasure, just a customer. These have been offered on Amazon for at least the last three years. Your article is no accurate.
