Hi Rachel
Sure so long as you credit the original source with a written url (on a physical leaflet) or clickable link back (if used anywhere online).
Good luck with your water store.
Best wishes,
Luke

Hi Luke,

I just open a Water Store I am selling Alkaline and Purified water, I came across your article and it is very informative. I wonder if I could clip the article you wrote regarding the benefits of Alkaline for my leaflets? I will be distributing leaflets and flyers for my store as part of a marketing campaign.

Hi Sue

I agree with you, alkaline water can sometimes be over-hyped and yes, regular water is still one of the healthiest and most affordable way to stay hydrated.

However, there are some studies showing alkaline water benefits. For instance, a 2012 study shows that naturally high alkaline water of 8.8 pH may help reduce pepsin - the main enzyme that's linked to acid reflux.

And there are many other studies showing similar types of health benefits.

But like you I'll continue to review the literature and change my opinion based on new and emerging research.

Thanks for the awesome comment!
Stay hydrated,
Luke

Hi Luke,
I’m a Licensed Dietitian and I get questions frequently about these alkaline water converters. I have always pushed back to the questioner by asking them what they think will happen to this alkaline water when it hits the highly acidic juices in the stomach. (Mix alkaline water with stomach acid and the pH will at least return to near 7 or even tip toward acidic again.). As the foods and liquids we take in pass through our digestive system, the body is always titrating the contents, adjusting it up a bit or down a bit to be the optimal pH for the function it is performing at that point in digestion.
After reading a few of your posts, you actually have me doubting my argument! What have you discovered in your research on that point? I’d appreciate your input.
My main objections to the alkaline filters are the exorbitant prices, as well as the fact that people’s hopes are raised to expect cures. They delay seeking appropriate medical advice and treatment for their health conditions, which is sad.
I really like your thorough work on all things water related. Great job!
