I don’t care about the taste; and I don’t care about the alkalinity. I only care about fluoride and chlorine… (specifically, I require the absence of both), which is why I only drink Essentia bottled water. They flat-out state that there is no chlorine or fluoride in their water.

Hi there, just wanted to add to your topic about the brand first mentioned, Essentia. It is a good tasting and flouride/chlorine free water yet I have an objection to the statement that it keeps you hydrated all day. Not being rude just wanted to input my observation. One of the ingredients is sodium bicarbonate, which is one compound that keeps us needing more hydration after consumption. Other than that it is a clean tasting water that makes you feel good to drink.

In reply to Lisa. Hi Lisa Great question! There are very few filters that guarantee to remove fluoride and even fewer water brands sold as "fluoride free". If you are buying bottled water then it should not contain fluoride but it's sometimes difficult to find this information out from the manufacturers especially the alkaline water machine makers. If fluoride removal is important to you then you should get something like the Berkey filter, which comes with it's own special fluoride filter. Hi – besides alkalinity, a main concern of mine is fluoride? I see mention of Essentia having fluoride removed. What about 8.8 Alkaline Water? And the other alkaline water brands What about the different units, including Kangen – with regard to fluoride removal?

Very informative post!

I agree about the overpriced aspect of the Kangen, although I too think it’s a high-quality ionizer. It’s manufactured in Japan, and they’ve done a lot of neat research on the benefits of alkaline water there.

I’ve read a lot of verified reviews written by people who gave the Kangen a test drive and ended up buying Air Water Life ionizers or several other legit brands. They were just as happy.

Thanks for sharing the generator flask, I had yet to see that device.
